12 month stats

I took you for your 12 month well-baby check-up this morning. You had to get 4 shots which you screamed and cried over--breaking my heart in return. :-(  Your stats are as follows: Weight-21 lbs. 12 oz; Height-28 1/4"; Head-17 3/4".  You were in the 25-50th percentiles. Physically and developmentally you're right on track, although once again both me and your pediatrician thought you would be higher in rankings than what you were because of how "solid/chunky" you appear.  

Some of the things you are doing include walking with assistance (either by holding on to our hands, cruising around the furniture, or using push toys to walk), crawling rapidly, standing alone for long periods of time, go from standing to sitting and you can even bend down to pick something up and then stand back up.  You can say "bye-bye", "da-da", and "ma-ma". I think you're understanding what "dog" means and said "da" this morning as you were crawling towards Phillie.  You know what "no-no" means and when you are told this, you will shake your head and smile! You LOVE to open the bathroom cabinet although we have a baby lock on it and you LOVE to shut doors. You've shut yourself in several rooms numerous times and what upsets you isn't the fact that you've shut yourself in it's the fact that you can open and shut the door again. 

Your routine is pretty much the same. Your bedtime is usually 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 or 6:00 a.m. Your midmorning nap is around 9, afternoon nap around 1 and you may or may not take an evening nap around 4:30 or 5. Over the past week you've been down to one bottle a day (usually first thing in the morning) but this morning you didn't have one so I'm going to try not to let you have any more. Usually you are perfectly content with a sippy cup of milk. You are eating 95% table food now--whatever I prepare for Harlee's meals is generally what you get. Although you only have one tooth poking through (bottom left), you have no problems eating whatever you are given. You eat three meals a day with 2 snacks and are completely self-feeding yourself (unless I have yogurt, etc. to give you). 

You love to play with Harlee and LOVE to play with her toys more than she does. In fact you spend more time in her room playing than you do your own. You like to look at books and you really like to play with Little People. You're very curious about Phillie and like to "pet" him but you're a little rough so we have to watch you very closely. When we tell you to shake your booty, you can do it. You REALLY like to mess with Daddy's electronics and have learned how to turn the surround sound on and off. 

You wear size 4 diaper and mostly 18 month clothes, although some of your 12 month shorts still fit but probably won't be for much longer. If you would wear shoes, you would be a size 2 (I tried some on you in Target this weekend but you did NOT like them!!). Your eyes are still big and blue just like mine and your hair is brown. You are the cutest baby boy I have ever laid my eyes on and I am so proud to call you mine! I love you, Aiden!!
