Christmas 2009

Aiden, you were so much fun this Christmas. Last year you were only 5 months old and you primarily slept through present opening on Christmas morning. Not the case this year. You were the perfect age.

Harlee and I made some candy cane-shaped sugar cookies for Santa (which she dropped in the floor on the way to leave them under the tree) and some Snowmen gingerbread cookies for the reindeer on Christmas Eve. You also slept in a toddler bed (borrowed from Ava--thank you so much!!) for the first time on Christmas Eve. You and Harlee woke around 7:30 on Christmas morning and finally around 8 (Dad had to get the video camera set up, turn the Christmas CD on, make some coffee, let Donkey out, etc) we let you guys into the kitchen (we have the Christmas tree in the kitchen each year because the living room is not big enough for one plus we can "lock" you guys out of the kitchen with the baby/dog gate). You went right to the unwrapped toys left by Santa and started playing. You did pretty good unwrapping stuff although once you unwrapped these $1 plastic animals I got you (giraffe, elephant, horse & lion) you were pretty much content with those. Daddy & Harlee helped you open some presents but for the most part you just walked around playing with stuff. It was so much fun watching you explore everything.

Some of the toys you got from Santa & mommy/daddy & Harlee include: tool set, basketball goal, little people airplane, vtech helicopter, set of balls, books, clothes, bath toys, chuck the talking truck, firetruck, more cars and I'm sure I'm forgetting more stuff.

That afternoon Grandma came over to have Christmas lunch/dinner with us and to do presents. Daddy deep fried a turkey and I cooked a ham, hashbrown casserole, green bean casserole, crescent rolls and a pumpkin pie and apple cobbler. You ate very well (as usual). Some toys you got from Grandma include spongebob pajamas, book, puzzle, car and bag of blocks.

We stayed at home the entire Christmas break just hanging out and playing with all of your new toys. It was so much fun and I know next year will be even more fun!!
